Situation de la maison/du terrain:
Gargnano is a small, idyllic town on the western shore of Lake Garda in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Surrounded by the foothills of the Alps and the deep blue waters of Lake Garda, the town is known for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere. With a long history dating back to Roman times, Gargnano was once an important trading center for olive oil and wine. Today, it is a popular tourist destination that attracts visitors to explore the picturesque streets, historic churches and villas, and unspoiled nature of the surrounding area.
One of Gargnano"s most famous landmarks is the 14th-century church of San Francesco, with beautiful Gothic architecture and a museum that houses artifacts from the town"s history. The town is also known for its historic villas, including Villa Feltrinelli, built in the 19th century and now a luxury hotel.
In addition to history and culture, Gargnano also offers breathtaking nature for hiking and exploring. Monte Pizzocolo is a popular lookout point with spectacular views of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. Parco Alto Garda Bresciano is a huge nature reserve with hiking and biking trails and breathtaking views.
For water sports enthusiasts, Lake Garda offers numerous activities such as sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and stand-up paddling. There are also several beaches and resorts along the coast where you can relax and enjoy the sun. Gargnano is home to a variety of restaurants, cafes and stores where you can sample local specialties such as olive oil, wine and cheese. Regular markets also offer regional products and handicrafts for sale.
Autres:
"Limonaie" - The development of citrus orchards was gradual and progressive throughout history.
Historical research shows that the system of lemon groves was widespread throughout the upper Garda Riviera in the Brescia area, but Gargnano concentrated more than half of the land dedicated to citrus cultivation, which reached its greatest expansion in 1850-55 (of the total 47 hectares, 24 were in Gargnano, 7 in Limone, 6 in Maderno and 3.5 in Toscolano), when production in Gargnano alone reached over 8 million lemons per year.
Precisely in Gargnano, in 1840, in the premises of the former Franciscan monastery, the Società Lago di Garda (Lake Garda Society) was founded by the association of citrus orchard owners to harvest, sort and market the citrus fruits as far as northern Europe (Società Lago di Garda). To date, only a few structures have survived and therefore represent a rarity of great value.
