In addition to its reputation as a renowned wine-growing area, it enjoys the reputation of a sought-after vacation resort, the center of which stretches between the two headlands of Punta Cornicello and Punta Mirabello. Its popularity is due in no small part to the fact that the town boasts numerous good hotels in all price ranges, a beautiful old town, wide promenades and shopping streets, and an attractive waterfront promenade.
There are also nice beaches - for example north of Punta Cornicello, where inviting lawns and shady trees reach all the way to the lake shore. Also good for swimming and soaking up the sun is the Lido Mirabello lido on the southern peninsula.
However, a vacation in Bardolino does not only please wine connoisseurs and bathers. Spa vacationers also get their money"s worth here. How could it be otherwise - the healing power of the local grapes is used. In autumn, when the fruit is freshly harvested, it is time for the traditional grape cure. It promotes digestion, stimulates the metabolism and is said to provide relief from all kinds of ailments such as arthrosis, gout or rheumatism.
