Originally the municipality of San Felice del Benaco was called Benàcus or Benàco. It is located on the west coast of Lake Garda, only 35km from Brescia, and is a promontory between the bay of Salò and the bay of Manerba. The small town, founded in 1928 by the union of the three centres of San Felice, Portese and Cisano, also includes Garda Island, owned by the Borghese Cavazza family. San Felice del Benaco has more than 3000 inhabitants and is located in the province of Brescia. The area has a surface of 20km, which includes not only the center of San Felice, but also places like Portese and Cisano.
