This beautiful village house is located in Sfaka, a region found on the main route towards Sitia.

The owners bought the property in 2005 and renovated it with the intention of having three separate, independent apartments, but have used it as one unified house since then.

The entrance of main house on the 1st floor (top) is on a little cobble stone path. The other two apartments on the ground floor can be accessed by exterior stairs that come down from the main house as well as via a separate entrance – a wooden gate that leads into a common courtyard and garden.

Main house – 1st floor (top floor)
is about 75m2 in total, and is made up of a living room, bedroom and kitchen accessed externally through the patio. There are incredible views of the village and the sea from the bedroom and patio area.

As there is no bathroom upstairs in the main house, the current kitchen can be converted into a bathroom and a new kitchen can be installed in the living room. The water pipes and electricals for this have already been provided.

This will make the main house completely independent from the rest of the house.

The lower, ground floor
is made up of two separate apartments, one large and one very small.

The larger apartment has a living room, spacious bedroom with a decorative fireplace, and large bathroom with a shower, toilet, and sink. The piping and electricals are ready for a new kitchen to be installed in the living room.

The smaller apartment is made up of a small living room or hallway, bedroom, and bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. This apartment has not been completed. Even though a new bathroom was installed, there is no electrical wiring, no inner doors, the walls need plastering and painting, and the floors need tiling.

The two ground floor apartments lead out into the common courtyard and garden. There are lovely views of the village and sea from here.

There is a little room under the exterior stairs that houses the washing machine, ironing board and iron. There is also an old shed in the garden that can also be easily renovated and made into a storage area or laundry room.

The garden is about 85m2 and is planted with various flowers and shrubs local to the area.

In summary this lovely village house consists of:

Sfaka is a small traditional mountain village that is situated between Agios Nikolaos and Sitia. Situated just a little bit east of it you find the slightly bigger village of Tourloti. In Sfaka the road starts that leads to the coastal village / tourist resort of Mochlos. Dominant in the village of Sfaka is the huge church with its domes and two high bell towers. Just outside the village along the road towards Lastos is the nice Saint Marina Sundial church. By the way: sometimes the name Sfaka is also used to point out the village of Chora Sfakion, which is situated in the south of Crete.
